The Scottish Highlands are famously home to the two hundred and eighty two Munros in these are the mountains which exceed 914 meters. These range from a simple walk to roped scrambling that involves abseils and the odd pitched climb. We offer a range of courses and days aimed at getting you out in the mountains either learning the skills or simply being guided through some of the Highlands most iconic landscapes.
We split our hillwalking into two categories instruction and guiding.
Instructional courses are focussed on summer mountain skills. These are the essentail skills needed to stay safe in the mountains. We focus on navigation an essential skill given the UK's often turbulent weather. Understanding mountain hazards such as weather, terrain, equipment and emergency procedures. We also introduce some emergency rope work should you wish to pass a difficult step. These are carried out in the Cairngorms National Park, Ben Nevis and Glen Coe and the wild North West Highlands.
Guiding is delivered from one day to a week and is either delivered at your chosen location or we can help design a programme to suit your time and needs. Our intimate knowledge of the Highlands gives us the ability to pick some great journeys through the mountains of Scotland.
We also spend a lot of time on the UK's highest mountain Ben Nevis please visit the Nevis Basecamp for further details.
